Hi guys And Welcome to my First movie review, Today i will be reviewing one of my top ten movies of all time which is The Wedding Singer(1998), Today i Decided to review this movie because it had such impact on My Life.

Casting.

The casting in this movie is brilliant in all views all the characters have well and truly succeed the roles appointed to them.

download.jpg
Drew barrymore played an absolute blinder when she played the character Julia, what i mean is even though she wasn't meant to play the leading female role in the movie she did such a superb job, even though drew barrymore was only meant to be the main stairs Sister Holly(christine taylor) and Christine Taylor was actually meant to be the main actor but when practising the kiss scene between Julia And Robbie, The director actually thought it would be more of an impact on the viewers if he kissed Drew Barrymore, one thing after another and they ended up switching roles which made the movie superb in my eyes, the reason i think this is amazing is because Adam Sandler And Drew Barrymore Ended up doing multiple movies which are comedy Love stories.
The-Wedding-Singer.jpg
Adam Sandler played his role insanely well,i love the character Robbie Hart I think the best parts of his acting in this movie is when he gets heartbroken, When he is left at the altar by his wife to be Linda, when his break up is fresh is when you really see the character come to life.

I adore the story for this movie, the way everything fits together is just perfect, what it shows mainly is money can't buy you happiness,This shows when Julia leaves her rich partner glenn for someone who has no money, lives in his sister's basement and works part time as a wedding singer and music teacher.

tumblr_o0bfunGxLi1ultyueo1_250.gifThe best parts of this movie in my eyes are the moments when the cameos come into play for example steve buscemi doesn't actually get credited as the part played but does get credited for singing in the band right at the end of the movie, Another thing i love about the movie is there always hinting all the way through about billy idol playing his music and wearing his clothes and fan wear, when coming to the end of the movie Robbie Hart rushes to the airport and buys a first class ticket to vegas to try and stop the love of his life marrying the wrong person,When sitting in first class he is telling his story to a bunch of other characters in the show when billy idol becomes another major role in the movie, Billy gets the air hostess to let robbie sing over the PA system so Julia can hear Robbie's voice, This is the part that gets my heart everytime when he Starts singing the camera zooms in on her face, the look in her face blows my mind, The only emotion on her face once she hears him singing is Love.

every shot about this movie makes it all come together nothing too dramatic in the camera work side of things but pretty much every shot that is used gives the movie a warm feel all the way throughout the movie, i personally would rate this movie a 9/10, everytime i watch this movie i get really happy it makes me think of the times i used to watch it when i was younger sneaking my tv on at night to watch it, possibly one of the greatest movies made in my opinion.

I think the most memorable soundtrack in this movie would have to be the song that Adam sandler sings to Drew barrymore in the final scenes of the movie, like i mentioned early in my review still today this day everytime i hear this song i get emotional and makes me smile so hard just because of the smile Drew barrymore gives when Adam sandler comes from behind the curtain when performing the song.

Drew barrymore and Adam sandler both have this amazing connection, little did i know untill looking up movies which they had both starred in they have a ten year gap between movies they star in together, after watching a interview i came across a song that they had created together called The Every Ten Years Song.

Warrior.

The plot to the movie warrior is more than amazing in my eyes, the way they nailed the fight scenes and made them look so real and detailed. The genre of
this movie usually has the same storyline about a young man who is been bullied, finds his way to a mma Gym and happens to become such an amazing fighter in a very short period of time and defeating the bully who targeted them, these types of movie are known as a “karate kid story”.

The best thing about this movie is the plot doesn't go down the same route as most of other fighting style movies, This movie is all about fighting for money to provide for families. This concept in the movie really makes you think because 90% of professional fighters don't fight for any other reason other than to provide for their families.

giphy.gifThe storyline of this movie has major twist when you find out both of the main characters are brothers who end in the last fight competing for the money prize, all the way through the movie there is hints of the 2 characters knowing each other and it's not really until near the end when one says to the other you left just like mom did, that's when the plot really grabbed my attention, All the way through the final fight i had so much tension wondering who was going to win, also made me think who is going to walk away victorious, even though both characters are loveable i must admit i favoured Tom hardy's character.

Tom hardy stepped up in this role and nailed his role as Tommy Conlon, when watching Tom Hardy play this character the reason i said he nails it because of his facial expressions, it's like he is playing his role with no emotions, just like the role needed to be portrayed, he plays the role like someone who has went through life and seen some horrible things and have lost all emotion throughout the his body.

warrior-movie-2011-picture-3.jpgJoel edgerton also played his role amazingly, a loving father with a history of cage fighting, the reason i love the character in this movie is the fact he is a teacher in a high school trying to the right thing by his family and provide to the best of his abilities, after falling behind on his house payments and looking forward to nothing but eviction he decides to go back into his old way of fighting to clear some money to cover his bills.

When listening to the soundtrack to this movie it made me get chills, the song is talking about how distant people are and speaks about them slowly re-joining their relationship. About today.

Tom Hardy has a huge name in hollywood, He has been in some of the biggest  movies in the last 3 years, after playing his part in warrior he landed huge movies and landed amazing roles such as BANE in the batman movie, which in my decision is one of the most amazing roles i have ever seen an actor play, the way he plays bane is amazing he 100% made that movie what it is because of his superb performance playing bane.

Joel Edgerton even though he played such an amazing role in Warrior i haven't really seen him in anything else other than warrior even though he played an amazing and has landed other roles since been in warrior he hasn't really excelled into any major roles after this movie unlike his co star Tom Hardy.

The Worlds End

200.gif

The World's End  is another simon pegg and nick frost movie, The duo make every movie that they star in, what i mean is they have this very unique style of acting when in movies together, even though this movie isn't the greatest of movies it does have some aspects of greatness, what i mean by this is the fight scenes are pretty great to say the actors who star in the movie aren't exactly known for their series of combat movies, even though they do a pretty well job of the fight scenes as actors they still look a little out of place.

we2.gifThe World's End is about a group of men who want to relive their glory days from when they were teenagers and take on the golden mile, The golden mile is a mile of 12 pubs and they try to undertake the mile which means they have to go and try and have a drink in every pub on the mile and try and drink 1 pint of alcohol in each pub, little do they know the town has been taking over by mutant robots, who openly say they are not robots because robots are slaves.

The way the movie is shot is pretty good, some parts of the movie could be improved, most of the casting is brilliant, any movie that can bag simon pegg and nick frost together has done a great job in the casting right there, unfortunately not all the cast have done the role i was hoping for i'm not really a major fan of eddie marsan, i think there is many actors who could of played this role in such better fashion.
the worlds end.gif
The storyline of the movie isn't great at all doesn't really make any sense on what is actually happening no real explanation on why the home town has completely changed into these robot type of beings.

The director decided to use the same fast cut sequences in this movie, the same as shaun of the dead and also the same as Hot Fuzz, The editing in the movie was pretty good, the cgi wasn't the greatest but wasn't the worst, There wasn't many floors in the movie little things that could be picked up on if you had a eye for editing.

Favourite quotes, Simon Pegg - Fuck Off you big lamp. has to be the best line in the full movie when he is arguing with the leader of the Robots (The Network).

I'm not 100% on what genre they were aiming for in this movie other than straight up comedy, when looking this up i was looking this movie up it says one of the genres it was aiming for was action, don't get me wrong i know the fight scenes are meant to make it the whole action movie, i just think it should stick to aiming to be a comedy and nothing else.

Soundtracks are a major part in all movies they really tie the movie together, i think you really get the feel of a movie when sat watching the trailer and the soundtrack kicks in, to me that's what brings the excitement into actually wanting to watch the movie when it is about to come out.

Four Brothers

Four Brothers  - John singleton directed one of the greatest movies in my eyes, this movie is about 4 brothers who are all adopted by the same woman, the reason she had adopted so many boys is that she was a foster mother and who prepared children to go to their forever homes and spend their lives with new families however she came across 4 young men who were so far gone and naughty that she couldn't find nobody to re-home them so she adopted them herself and brought them up to be gentlemen.

tumblr_nttvhuOcEF1ut5vs6o8_r1_400.gifThe films main plot line is about how the brothers lose their mother to a store robbery only to find out later on in the movie the reason their mother was murdered wasn't just wrong place wrong time, The killers were actually hired by a mob boss so one of her sons would change his mind and make him go into business with him.

The main characters are Four Brothers Bobby Mercer(Mark Wahlberg), Angel mercer(Tyrese Gibson), Jerry Mercer(Andre 3000) and Jack Mercer(Garrett Hedlund) are played amazingly well the actor who plays Jack Mercer Hits the ball out of the park when doing his lead scene unfortunately it does end in him dying but the acting in this scene is superb its really moving and intense almost like you're part of the shoot out that's happening.

Casting/stardom,

mark.jpgMark wahlberg was and still is a pretty huge actor on the go in this present day, he has such a diverse catalog of movies, some of his movies range from really serious action movies to daft funny comedies. Some movies Mark has been in even though the movie is rather a comedy or a romantic movie, he is still sort of portrayed in a manly man role, this usually happens when you portray brilliant in one style of acting it usually sticks with you for the rest of your career.
Even though Mark is such a talented actor unfortunately he started his career rapping which wasn't to great. Thank god he chose to follow his acting career  instead of choosing his rapping career, which i think everyone is pretty grateful.

tyrese.jpgTyrese Gibson has more recently became a bigger actor with his roles in the fast and furious saga, which he plays a loveable goofy hardman who has pretty much all the decent funny parts all the way through these movies. Tyrese also became famous from a musical career and then followed his dream into acting. I personally am glad he made this transition because i enjoy his characters in most of the movies he is in.

andre3000.jpgAndre 3000 started his career with a huge music career in a band named Outkast. Even though he played his part well in 4 brothers i personally don't think he is a great actor, i think he should of stayed a music artist and excelled in his music career instead of trying to take up his role in acting.

tumblr_n0sxace9x81qaho1po1_r1_250.gifGarrett hedlund played such an amazing part in 4 brothers but never really hit it big like the rest of the cast, all the movies which he followed up from 4 brothers he never really played major roles, he has been in movies since but has never really landed a role as big as what he played in 4 brothers.

The genre of this movie is a gritty on the edge of your seat action film, 4 brothers has none stop action from start to finish, this movie will be categorised in the genre with other movies such as get rich or die trying and xXx and many more movies,

Each character has a role in the movie.

Bobby Mercer is the family hard case who can really handle himself and his well known by the police and the local gangsters in the local town, bobby takes the leader role in the brothers and pretty much calls the shots of what everyone else is doing.

Angel Mercer is the family playboy Angel spends more of his time trying to get back with his high school crush and ends up getting chased down the street with a man shooting at him as he runs through the streets in just his underwear. Angel also tries to play a hard man but he doesn't pull it off as well as what his brother bobby does and i think he knows that deep down.

Jack Mercer is the youngest of the 4 brothers more of a rock-star wannabe than gangster but does not take any attitude from anyone always tries to fight his corner and always wants to be involved with trouble, he does get a little scared when he sees his brothers shoot the hired murderers who kill their mother.

Jerry Mercer is the family wimp, he always wants to avoid the trouble and always ends up pulling away to do family duties just before things get down and heavy the problem with jerry mercer is it turns out it's his own fault that his mother gets killed by hired hit-men, because of a business idea that went sour with the main gangster Victor Sweet.

When talking and reviewing movies one of the main things to always talk about is how the soundtrack of the movie fits, in this case i personally think it's a slight twist using a slow calm song for such a pumped up action movie with a lot of murders all the way through the movie.
Not only does the soundtrack have to be perfect it has to be a perfect selection of music all the way through the movie. The great thing about the music running through movies is it adds a lot of emotion to the scenes of what is happening in the movie.
For example in this movie when The brothers arrive back at the house, they are still acting pretty manly between one another, when they all separate and go to their bedrooms it shows them all sobbing and crying, They use Wish It Would Rain by the temptations, to me this adds a lot of emotion to this one scene just purely because the lyrics state, even if i am a man i'm still allowed to cry to soothe my pain.

Straight Outta Compton

straight-outta-compton-contest.jpg

This has got to be one of my favourite most recent movies, the whole telling the story of the former Rap group N.W.A really shows what the life of the artists was actually like,  shows how they lived their life and shows how the band came to an end, the movie also shows how Eazy E lived the last days of his life before dying of Aids.

STRAIGHT-OUTTA-COMPTON-cast.jpgThe movie really does give an insight of how things were when the group first started, it showed how police brutality was a major thing against black males, one scene in the movie when they are stood outside the recording studio enjoying the new lifestyle they were about to endure,The police come and start abusing them like they are criminals and force them to the floor while they wait for backup, this happens because they are black and look like they are causing trouble when in fact they are doing nothing wrong, alls they are doing is talking among each friends. the police brutality continues throughout the movie when they show public domain footage of multiple officers beating a young man for driving violations, Rodney king was left in a coma because of police brutality, when waking up from his coma rodney king was left disabled which happen start one of the biggest riots ever to happen in LA. The riots were so big the 2 biggest gangs in america The Crips and Bloods joined together to form against the police to try and stop police brutality in the black community.

The movie shows the group creating songs, which makes them run into problems with the police, one of the songs they performed, Fuck Da Police came up with a lot of trouble between NWA and the police they even got the FBI involved to try shut the song down so it wouldn't be allowed to be performed by the members of the group.

straight-outta-compton-oshea-jr-ice-cube.jpgThe casting of this movie was insane, The actors they got to play the characters were much  more than they expected when auditioning the remaining members of NWA took it upon themselves to make sure the cast for the show was phenomenal. There is 2 parts of casting which i found really interesting, The first was that o’shea jackson actually had to audition for the role of his own father, the part wasn't just gifted to him because he was his father's son. O’shea jackson actually had to take part in auditions for his father's role, the auditions lasted over 2 years. Ice Cube said in a interview that if his son never got the part he would be massively disappointed not only his son failed to land the part playing his own father, he would of also messed up because has had over 20 years research on the character he was auditioning for.

when writing my review i went and watched some interviews with the original NWA group so i could get a feel on how they felt about the movie.  When watching some of the interviews DR.DRE and Ice Cube were talking about how amazing it was for the actor who played Eazy-E, DR.DRE said they would take him everywhere with them for the simple fact it reminded them of having their friend back with them. The major thing that got be about the whole movie was after watching a interview and hearing Ice Cube talk about how hard it was for him to be on set when filming Eazy-Es death, I came across the explanation of this is, the reason he found it so hard was because he was never actually there and never got to see his friends last moments because he couldn't go to the hospital and see him just lying lifeless in a hospital bed.

The Whole movie was perfect it really brought to life how they came from nothin to have everything they have now and how things turned out in their life, it's just a shame that Eazy E never got the chance to live his life to his full potential, as you may know once leaving NWA DR.DRE became the biggest music producer of his time, this i really what made his stardom not the rapping he became what he is today through producing music, i'm not saying he didn't stick with rapping because everybody to this day knows he still raps when the right opportunity comes, if it wasn't for DR.DRE we wouldn't have some of the world's famous rappers we have today such as Eminem, Snoop dogg and 50 cent. After DR.DRE founder his production company Aftermath he then start signing some of the most amazing rappers there is today.

Ice Cube took a different route in his career even though he followed his rap dream for a while, he made his life and fame bigger when he went into acting and became a well known actor, Ice Cube also started writing more or his own movies which became a hit with the younger generation, he written movies such as Friday, The players club and All about the benjamins.

I dont really want to go into too much detail about the soundtracks on this movie because 90% of the music used throughout the movie was music they created, the reason i don't really want to mention it is because it's pretty obvious that the soundtracks would be a song created my NWA.
